The only international triathlon in the Canary Islands, Anfi Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria will be held on Saturday 22nd April with an Olympic distance and the half distance
A dozen of the PRO athletes from the most important triathlon in the world (DATEV Challenge ROTH) are participating or have participated in the Gran Canarian event Anfi del Mar, Mogán, 9 February 2023. – Anfi Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria already has its first confirmed professional triathletes and is heading for another successful edition with a star-studded line-up.
Anfi Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria is already looking forward to its 2023 event, which will be held on Saturday 22nd April, with both Olympic and middle distance. The triathlon is preparing for a new record in participation and is accumulating elite athletes who have already registered months before the race date. This is the case of the German athlete AndreaDreitz, who has already confirmed his place on the start line on the 22nd of April at Anfi del Mar.
AndreaDreitz was champion of Challenge Roth 2019 and second in 2018, champion of the European Championship Ironman 70.3, he took the gold in Ironman Emilia – Romagna, was champion of the Ironman 70.3 Jönköpimg, Challenge Denmark, and Ironman 70.3 Rügen, among other podiums. In 2021 he finished fifth in the World Championship ‘The Championship’ and stepped on the podium in several of the most demanding competitions. He was third in Ironman 70.3 Florida and fourth in Ironman 70.3 Texas.
The German triathlete already took the Challenge trophy on the islands, in this case in Challenge Fuerteventura 2014 where he crossed the finish line as the fastest in the middle distance, a premiere race in the Canary Islands done in style.
The Olympic distance is a 1.5 kilometre swim, 40 kilometre bike and 10 kilometre run, while the middle distance of Anfi Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria is a 1.9 kilometre swim, 90 kilometre bike and 21 kilometre run.
